When you step into The Parlour Room, you instantly feel it, that sense of calm, confidence, and care that founder Natalie Ferrari has so beautifully created.
What began as a single salon in Sydney has grown into a renowned beauty and wellness destination, known for its warm atmosphere, thoughtful treatments, and community of loyal clients. But beyond the glowing skin and polished details, Natalie’s story is one of balance, evolution, and heart. From building her business at 24, to navigating motherhood, and redefining what self-care really means.
In this conversation, Natalie shares the lessons she’d tell her postpartum self, the small rituals that keep her grounded, and the philosophy behind creating spaces that make people feel truly cared for.
What would you tell your postpartum self if you could go back to those early days?
You are doing a good job - truly. Don’t put pressure on yourself to do everything perfectly or have it all figured out straight away. Those early days can feel overwhelming and emotional, but they go by so quickly. Trust yourself more, let the small things go, and know that you will find your rhythm again. You don’t lose yourself in motherhood - you evolve, and you come back even stronger.
One mum hack you can’t live without
Always carry baby wipes and spare clothes - that’s a given - but I also swear by keeping a roll of dog poo bags in the nappy bag. They’re a lifesaver when you suddenly need somewhere to stash wet clothes, dirty nappies or even random food scraps when you’re out.
Something you prioritise for yourself
Doing at least one Pilates session a week. It’s not just exercise for me - it’s a mental reset and a chance to reconnect with my body. That one hour gives me energy, clarity and patience for the rest of the week.
What sparked you to open TPR?
I always knew I wanted to create something of my own. I’ve always had so many ideas and a strong vision for the kind of beauty experience I wanted to bring to life. Opening TPR was about creating a space that felt warm and a place where people could come not just for treatments, but to genuinely feel cared for.
Tip for surviving the juggle
Slow down. It sounds so simple but it changes everything. Let go of the habit of rushing from one thing to another and give yourself permission to take a little extra time.
Favourite BEETL product and why
The Baby Balm - it’s so soothing and nourishing. I love that it’s gentle but still really effective, and you can use it on just about anything. It even helped my son’s back when it was dry and irritated, so it’s become a staple in our home.
